The cross sectional areas of wires of motor and actuator are 0.85 and 1.25 mm2 respectively, while the cross sectional areas of wires of power circuit are 2, 3 and 5 mm2; The special circuits (starter, alternator, engine ground wire, etc.) have different specifications of 8, 10, 15 and 20mm2. The larger the cross-sectional area of the conductor, the greater the current capacity.
In addition to considering the electrical performance, the selection of wires is also restricted by the physical performance of the vehicle, so its selection range is very wide. For example, the doors of taxis that are often opened/closed, and the wires that cross the car body should be made of flexible wires. Conductors used in high temperature areas generally use vinyl chloride and polyethylene coated conductors with good insulation and heat resistance. In recent years, there are more and more electromagnetic shielding wires for weak signal circuits.
With the increase of vehicle functions and the wide application of electronic control technology, there are more and more electrical components and wires. The number of circuits and power consumption on the vehicle are significantly increased, and the harness becomes thicker and heavier. This is a big problem that needs to be solved.
